Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a classroom full of happy students who are excited to learn every day. In our class, these students are coming into the classroom in September barely knowing their letters, and leaving in June reading books all by themselves. It is amazing to see them grow and learn throughout the year. They are so excited and proud to learn to read and write every day.

Funds for technology and other learning supplies are not readily available for my students or my classroom, and at times, their motivation could use a boost.

I love seeing them excited and proud, and I know that this would really help make their faces light up every day. During these times of keeping social distance and wearing masks, it would make their school day more exciting.

My Project

I am lucky enough to have a great group of students but our classroom is lacking in technology. They are so excited every day to learn to read and write. The look on their faces when they recognize new words or are able to read a sentence on their own is so rewarding. Although I have an amazing class, our classroom is lacking in the technology department. There are so many great games, songs, activities, and stories available on these Amazon Fire tablets. I know having access to these would not only boost their reading and literacy skills, but it will also inspire them to want to keep learning more.
