Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a small classroom of 10 unique three year-olds. My classroom is a model PreK so I have typicals and special education together. My typicals “model” behavior for the others. They are so nurturing and sweet toward each other. Some of my students haven’t been in a daycare or school setting before, so we work on all concepts, such as sharing, taking turns, sitting on the carpet, and walking in a line. They learn rules and manners and make new friends!

My Project

We are requesting six Fire tablets, cases and charging dock for the ability to use technology in the classroom. We live in a technological world. It is hard for my students to use our computers because they aren’t touch screen and a mouse is difficult for them. After all, they are only three years old.

The kids love our SmartBoard where we work together to do great learning web-sites such as Starfall, ABCya, and PBSkids.

We are working hard on learning our numbers, colors, shapes, and sizes. They are working on letter recognition and counting. Games are the best way to learn these concepts and skills. It would be great for our classroom to have some tablets to learn on!
