Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students receive free hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many of my students are English Language Learners. They come from households where English is a second language. At home, the English language is rarely spoken, making it challenging for my students to learn and practice the English language. My classroom also services students with disabilities such as children with autism, ADHD, and speech or language impairments. A classroom is a place for these children to feel safe and accepted.
That is my mission every day as a special education teacher.
My Project
My students need three Amazon Fire Tablets in the classroom. With the addition of these tablets to the classroom, my students will be able to complete research and utilize educational apps to enhance their reading capabilities and skills.
Today's generation of students is drawn to technology.
By incorporating technology in the classroom, I am giving the students an opportunity to learn in a way they find engaging. When students are engaged, they are more focused which allows them to learn and retain more information. Amazon Fire Tablets have many different apps that promote learning. They are able to capture the students' attention while enhancing learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
