Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

90% of the students in my classroom are on free lunch. Many of them live in this neighborhood and attend the same school that their parents once attended.

These amazing learners have a thrill for learning but are often limited in the resources that are available to them.

While we move our classroom out of the desktop and laptop phase, tablets are a great way to get students more excited about learning. Tablets make learning fun for the younger students.

My Project

Students will be able to use school software to learn phonics and phonemic awareness. These tablets will be used during small group instruction rotations to provide students a familiar way to practice their reading skills.

Tablets are fun and easy for the students to learn how to read!

As students are working through their rotations they will apply skills that are learned throughout the school year to become more fluent readers and even writers. Students have more experience with tablets than desktops or even laptops. It is time for me to upgrade my class. Please help me in doing so.
