Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a high Hispanic Title 1 elementary school that is over 50 years old. We lack many of the modern technologies of today's world. Over 80% of my students are on free or reduced lunch.
Many of my students have moved to America from another country oftentimes, not speaking any English when they arrive.
Their families have come to America to give them a good education and a better life. They want their children to have the best education possible.
My Project
These tablets will make a difference in my students life as they will be used in a variety of ways to enhance their mathematical learning. I have created PowerPoint lessons for math topics that have videos, activities, pictures, questions, links to websites, and games. Students are highly engaged by them but I don't have the technological resources to use them in the classroom.
With these 2 tablets, I will have 6 tablets that I can use in the classroom with small groups.
There are also many apps I like to use with students that would enhance and improve their learning.
