My Students

When I received the Samsung Galaxy Tablet from Donorschoose, I realized that it's extremely fragile. I brought it into class for the students to use and one of the kids almost dropped it! I knew then that I would need these accessories to keep this expensive equipment protected!

My student's are Title 1, urban, low income students.

We are in our 4th year of a failing school since "No Child Left Behind" began. The city has been taken over by the state. This is our last year to prove that we can raise our student's state scores. I believe in my student's, and work daily to the best of my ability to create a safe, fun learning environment with inquiry projects. They will not fail in life if they care about what they are studying. Our children are our future. Since receiving the tablet, the student's who have used it love the science and math applications. It's great for me to take, and grade papers, etc. for work, while I'm not in school or at home. However, I worry that the tablet will be damaged so I'm not allowing all the students to use this technology, until I have a protective case on it for safety reasons. If a student drops it, the donation of the tablet goes "down the drain".

My Project

I am asking for a strong case with a keyboard and a protective cover for the tablet that I have for the students. These accessories are strictly to protect an investment that many donors helped fund. I cannot allow all the students to use this , because I do not want the tablet to become damaged, since it has no protective case on it in case one should drop the tablet to the ground. Also, I tutor after school and the tablet was a great hit with the tutoring students after school, because of the great math applications that are connected with this tablet! I have not been comfortable keeping the tablet in the classroom and allowing the student's to use for the whole period, because it's so delicate without a case and protection layer on the cover. I need to receive these materials to insure the tablets worth. I do not want this to be dropped by accident and have no protective case on it. Since receiving the tablet, my students that have used it, love the science applications!

This is important so the Samsung Tablet does not become damaged accidentally in the classroom, while being used for research on their lab projects.

As my students and I were using the tablet yesterday, I noticed that this expensive device needs protection otherwise eventually it may become damaged. The students love the science and math applications, and this has been a great device for me to grade, while not at work or home! It saves me time in the classroom to prepare for better experiments!
