Jefferson students are eager, curious, and clever. Like many students, they are familiar with electronic devices. They use iPads in the classroom to prepare projects, research, and present information. But for many the only access they have to technology happens at school.
The neighborhood is impoverished and many students have single parents working hard just to pay bills.
At school they get access to the internet and programs which will allow them to develop the skills that will make them competitive in the high school, college, and they job market.
I am on my feet all day teaching and need a way to monitor student progress and record assessment data. Your contribution will offer me the opportunity to wander the room wirelessly, assisting students at their desks. I will also be able to sit a student's desk and conference with them about the data I have been collecting. By funding this project, you will bring my classroom up to date electronically.
You will allow me to be more mobile and thus more successful.
