I teach middle level students who are learning English as a new language. The majority come from the Philippines and the island nations of Micronesia. They need language support to be successful in their regular classes, as well as navigating their new environment.
I believe that language learners learn best through peer collaboration with hands-on, visual learning opportunities.
I aim to provide students a lot of opportunities to interact with the core content they are learning. I also strongly believe in arts-integration as a powerful tool for learning.
My Project
Teaching online can be hard work! And being ready to teach from anywhere is even harder! Currently at school, my computer and desk are set up by the whiteboard and I don't have a whiteboard at home.
I would like to be able to have a digital whiteboard that I can use anywhere with an iPad and an Apple pen.
This will allow me to create anchor charts with students as we learn language forms and functions, show them how to fill out their paper assignments digitally, and also use as a second screen, which is ALWAYS helpful while teaching online! Thank you for your support - having these tech tools would be a dream come true! Thank you for helping educators during this stressful time!
