My Students
My students attend a low SES school in a rural area of West Virginia. A declining and aging population means fewer funds for pubic education.
My students are high achieving 11th and 12th graders studying Pre-Calculus, College Algebra, and AP Calculus.
They are excited about mathematics and science, and they plan to attend college to pursue careers in STEM fields. Having access to the latest technology allows them to compete on a level field with students from more affluent areas.
My Project
Help me give my students sturdy activity tables for our collaborative math classroom. With these new tables, my students will be able to work together on group projects. These tables will also give my students a better work space to utilize our 1 to 1 student laptops. The white table tops can also be used with dry erase markers to give students a large collaborative work space.
My 11th and 12th grade students need more comfortable and flexible seating options.
I have large Pre-Cal classes and these 5 additional tables will provide seating for 30+ students per block. These activity tables will last a long time in my classroom and benefit students for years.
