My students need a kidney table. Kidney tables are a great way to seat students so they can work together and also with me.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom full of energy and ready to take on each and every day! They are sweet and caring, smart and hardworking, but most of all an amazing group of kids. They come from a very small town and from a school full of pride.

They love to move, read, share their work, and show off what they are learning.

They thrive with positive reinforcement and flourish when they get to make choices about their day. As first and second graders, they have big goals for the future!

My Project

My students need a kidney table to support cooperation, encourage peer to peer learning, and collaborate in small groups. My students and I love working at tables instead of desks. Students have more room for all their materials and can easily work with each other. Kidney tables allow for close interaction during small group work.

This year I started a flexible seating arrangement.

I plan to use some of my new flexible seats around the kidney table so they can wiggle and move while learning from each other.

The kidney table will host reading groups, center stations, science projects, and so much more!
