Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My goal for this project is to provide my first grade students with an opportunity to learn collaboratively.

Working at tables teaches students to share, work together, socially interact, practice empathy, and learn together!

So many of our little ones struggle with those social and collaborative hurdles and keeping them apart at desks makes it even harder to learn those things. I think that tables that encourage discourse and collaborative learning will make our first graders shine! It's difficult getting funding for things like this in a Title I school but we want to try!
