My students need a teaching table with an inset deep enough for me to reach each child easily.

My Students
My students are silly, funny, and bright. Many of my students come from low-income families in Camden, New Jersey. They bring joy to me and our entire school with their smiling faces and attitudes.
The students in my class have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
Many of them have a diagnosis of downs syndrome or cerebral palsy. They have behavioral, attention and sensory challenges which interfere with their ability to process and retain information in a traditional manner. My students need more alternative and modified educational resources.
My Project
My students need hand over hand assistance to aide in learning how to perform many fine motor skills. They need access to more manipulatives (table top toys) to strengthen the small muscles used to perform the everyday life skills. The manipulatives I would like for my students will help develop the ability to use scissors, write with a pencil, and many more functional skills.
My students need a functional table to work at with their table top toys (manipulatives).
As they play, they develop these important fine motor skills that they desperately need. As their fine motor skills improve their ability to function independently in the world improves.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
