My Students
My students are eager to learn and gain as much as they can from the world around them. These little people can see and learn about our world from a different perspective.
It is my goal to give my students opportunities to experience as many learning moments as possible within our school and to prepare them for their generation’s world of careers while learning to work cooperatively.
My school is STEM certified and a Title I school with the majority of our students on free and reduced lunch. About 37% of our students are ESOL (English as a Second Language) coming from many different countries where English in the home is a second language being learned here at school. They are curious and creative with a variety of learning abilities; from learning disabled and speech disabilities, to above grade level abilities. The children are thrilled to explore the STEM challenges presented to them in all subject areas.
My Project
The Jonti Craft Activity Table will allow my students to work cooperatively while engaging in STEM problems and projects to solve and create. They love to be engaged with partners and discuss other ways to solve challenges in their learning.
The ability to work together in a structured setting, yet allowing for a flexible work space, will give them real life lessons working with others to meet the challenges set upon them.
As a STEM school, my students are learning to make a design, build it, and redesign their idea if necessary to improve their project outcome. Your donation will give my students an opportunity to work together to better enhance their creative and critical thinking skills.
I would love to move away from individual desks to creating a classroom that can have more of a cluster feeling and camaraderie. The activity tables will allow for a definite space to share imaginations and creativity, while at the same time allowing for our Career Ready standards to make their beginning mark on the youngest students.
