This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school has implemented the PBIS behavior system which stand for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Our school teaches students how to be respectful, responsible and safe through this program. Part of this program is to help build incentives for students to earn for being respectful, responsible and safe throughout the school day so students will stay on task and learn more along with not interrupting other students learning.
One of our incentives that students can use their PBIS tickets for that they have earned with their great behavior is "Picnic With A Friend." Students love having a special spot that they can hangout and eat lunch with a friend because they were doing what was expected in school.
This is one of our most popular incentives but we need picnic tables for the students to be able to sit on that can withstand the Arizona weather instead of the cafeteria tables that rust when they are outside. These special picnic tables would help us design and have that special area for these special students who work so hard being respectful, responsible and safe at school. Please help give our students a special picnic area to eat with a friend.
