This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are the best! Most are eager to learn, but quite a few are very shy and have difficulty participating in class discussions. Several are below grade level in reading, and it is difficult to determine if they grasp the materials when I have 35 students in a class.
Having this table and chairs will enable me to work with the students in a small group setting where they must participate, and I can provide more one-on-one assistance and instruction.
Reading and discussing literature in a small group is much more beneficial to my struggling and shy students. It allows them to feel comfortable because they are not answering and asking questions in front of the entire class where they feel they are being judged.
