Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At my school, artists are eager to learn and create every time they walk in the art room. Terriers participate in the arts whether inside or outside the classroom. Terriers get to experiment with new activities through art, movement, and creativity.

Our students are proud of their school and they feel safe every time they walk in their classrooms.

The art room is a safe place where they get to express their creativity into the knowledge they are getting from their classrooms.

This year we are bringing more of the fine arts to the school and although it started with a few students it created a growing interest to the rest of the students who had never been exposed to theater arts. Our Drama club will be hosting their first play this year and we are hoping to get the technology we need to be able to act, sing, and perform their roles on the stage without having to run to the next person to pass the microphone to.

My Project

For many of T. G. T. Elementary students our Winter Extravaganza Play was an introduction to the performing arts. After our first show a majority of our students have asked when the next show will be and how they can be a part of it.

All costumes and props are purchased by the Music teacher, Art teacher, and the Drama Club parents.

We had to do the best we could without microphones for each actor or actress. We only have cord microphones and we did not want the students to trip over them.

With your help our Drama Club could expand. The microphones will allow the students to be heard from all corners of our auditorium. Our students are excited for our spring show and we want to make sure they have the technology they need to put on another successful show. All donations go towards the microphones the students will wear as they make their way on stage, audience, and across the auditorium.
