Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are working hard to overcome many of life's obstacles. When they come to school, it is my job as a teacher to support them, challenge them, encourage them, and inspire them. In school my students feel protected, nourished, nurtured, loved, and educated. We are a unique family; we uphold a student-centered approach to learning and offer hands-on, meaningful educational tracks for both college and career.
Every day I am humbled by our students; they embody the true meaning of perseverance.
I show up for work every day with the goal of serving the young adults of Holyoke to the best of my ability.

My students are excited to participate in hands-on collaborative learning and need supplies to support their engagement and academic success!
Students will use the notebooks to support their organization and promote responsibility as we encourage extended learning opportunities outside of the classroom. The easel pads will enhance opportunities for meaningful collaboration and creativity. The index cards and post-it notes will promote independent thinking and the cultivation of knowledge; plus, teachers will be able to use these resources to collect valuable data (checks for understanding) that will inform our practice and help to close academic gaps! The crayons, markers, highlighters, colors pencils, and pencils will foster creativity and encourage joy!
