My Students

Some of us may have fond memories of Physical Education. while others just remember trying to run away from the bully who thought that dodgeball was another form of hunting! I want my students to feel welcomed and capable during phys. ed., I want to provide them with the necessary tools for life long fitness.

My students range from 6 to 11 years old.

Each one has specific needs that I want and need to meet. The majority of my students are non-verbal. They use sign language and visual cues to communicate. I love my job and teaching these students is rewarding and beautiful. They need this adaptive equipment in order to participate in physical education and hopefully one day they can be mainstreamed into a general phys. ed. class. They will be able to interact with general ed. students and become a healthy active member of society. Please help me in shaping these students minds and bodies.

My Project

I am requesting various equipment that will help my students' sensory needs. A large group of the students I teach have autism and need tactile equipment in order to focus on tasks. These little kiddos need to be able to touch, hear, and sometimes taste their way through life! The equipment I am requesting will help them experience Phys. Ed. in a way that they can understand. My students need therapy and exercise balls as well as a sitting volleyball system for those students who are in wheelchairs.

Having the resources to properly teach students with disabilities is so essential to their growth.

Phys. Ed. is a place where students with physical disabilities, autism, MD, can let loose and explore their environment! Without the equipment to help them do this.. its more like a big boring room! I want to have the best for my kiddos so they can have a fulfilling and genuine experience.
