My Students

I have an amazing group of students. They are bright, resilient, positive, and never give up. I have 4 students who's physical disabilities limit them to wheelchairs for mobility. These 4 students work hard to improve their independence and success in all areas of their school day.

My students need access to recreational opportunities on the playground for a chance to relax, unwind, and just be kids.

They need to maximize opportunities to get out of their wheelchairs, and to participate with all students on the playground.

My Project

This special playground swing will benefit students in a variety of ways. These 4 students currently do not currently have access to the playground swings at school due to their physical limitations. In addition to increasing the fun at recess time, this swing will improve motor skills and socialization for 4 amazing students.

This swing will give my students another opportunity to participate with their non-disabled peers at recess while they swing together side by side.

The swing also provides my students with another chance to work and strengthen their muscles during the school day by increasing movement and getting the students up and out of their chairs for a motivating reward!
