Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, we prepare students from under-resourced communities to use their college degrees and careers to make a positive multi-generational change. Eighty-seven percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch, 80% of them will be first-generation college students, and 100% of our first five graduating classes were accepted into four-year colleges and universities.
Our team has reached the finals of the conference playoffs three years in a row and are eager to finally win a championship this year.
They have been working hard all off-season. Our student-athletes are challenged every day to perform at a high level both in their classes and on the field. The four core values of our school are pride, respect, excellence, and perseverance. These athletes are proud to work hard together to achieve their goals. They respect each other, coaches, opponents, and fans. They set ambitious goals and strive for excellence. And finally, they know to reach those goals, they must work hard no matter the challenge.
My Project
The varsity baseball team has fallen just short of their goal of winning the Conference Championship three years in a row. Currently, the team is in 1st place ready and focused to win a Conference Championship.
Each game we need to supply new game balls and our current stock is running low.
The equipment donated in our last fundraising efforts re-energized our athletes and pushed them towards another successful season. Each game we are required to provide new game balls and our supply diminishes quickly. Again, we are running out of baseballs which is why need another small fundraiser to restock our current supply.
