Sweet Student Success

My Students

My students are eager and ready to learn when they come to school. Our classroom motto and theme is "Growth Mindset" because it's important to learn from and grow from our mistakes. My students understand this very well, so they're always willing to try new things and participate in class.

In my class, we also focus on being a community.

We share our resources and our ideas, so everyone can benefit. My students love to share with their classmates because they understand the importance of "filling other's buckets."

My Project

Because of COVID-19, our class has had to adjust a lot. One of these adjustments is that students are often absent, so they have to work with me one-on-one or in small groups to get caught up. Because of this, I am using my own desk to meet with students and I need a new organization system to make this work better. The filing cabinet, paper trays, and desk organizer tray are for this purpose. They would allow me to free up desk space, so I can work with more students. The stools would make this learning experience better and more flexible as well.

Additionally, students are doing virtual learning which requires me to gather assignments for them to work on at home.

As I've been gathering materials, I've realized that it would be more effective if I had access to a stapler, paperclips, and binder clips in my classroom. These would allow me to make packets for students, so they would be able to keep their materials organized. The pencils and pencil sharpeners would enable me to send students home with the materials they need to complete assignments.

With COVID-19, we're also working to prevent the spread of germs. The drawer organizers would be used to let students keep their pencils separated from others' pencils, but it would also make it possible for me to efficiently sharpen them at one time.

With virtual learning, I am using my school iPad more. That being so, the iPad case would protect my iPad from any potential damage. Other supplies that would benefit students are the class sets of markers, crayons, and colored pencils. The fraction sets and dice would be used for math, the stickers for an organized class library, and the pens for grading.
