Music is a universal language that has the unique ability to connect everyone. My classroom creates a place for my students to get to know each other on a new level, through song and dance. I am always looking for new ways to engage my students. They are a fun-loving bunch, and they are always looking for new challenges.
You never know what it will take to spark a child's interest in music.
Since I service all 600 students in my building, it is important for me to provide a variety of activities for my students that they may not be able to pursue or afford outside of the classroom.
Students love creating music. However, there is not a "one size fits all" solution for creating and performing music. We are requesting steel drums and mallets that will help me get even more of my students excited about music class.
Performing is an important life skill that I work to develop in my students, but not every kid wants to stand up in front of people and sing.
By funding my project, you are helping me create a different performance outlet for my students who may otherwise not be excited about performing. Once this project is funded successfully, I hope to continue working to add steel drums to my classroom, and creating a steel drum band for my students.
