My Project

I have been using a positive reward system in my classroom for years now. I try to focus on the positive and reinforce it as opposed to using any kind of negative. I believe that the natural consequences will take care of the poor choices students may make, so I instead, focus on the positive!!!

When students complete their homework on time, or answer questions correctly in class, they are "rewarded" with an ALOHA BUCK.

When they have enough ALOHA BUCKS saved up, they can "buy" an Otter Pop. Some just like collecting the Aloha Bucks, as I print them on brightly colored paper and laminate them.

We also write in a gratitude journal daily, so the card stock and colored pencils are to create beautiful covers for them.
