Sustainable Shredding

My Project

This year, my school is applying for the Green School designation. To qualify, schools must have an effective, proactive environmental program that includes getting the entire community involved in becoming more environmentally conscious. Schools that receive this designation integrate "green" thinking into every aspect of the school experience. One way that we can do this is by recycling or reusing our paper waste.

A commercial shredder can be used to recycle paper waste for composting, animal bedding, and other things.

Our school hosts GSA Farms, a student-run social enterprise operated by our high school students. It is an extension of our school's urban agriculture and aquaculture programs. In addition to raising fish and growing vegetables and fruits, students raise chickens and ducks. This shredder is high-quality, which will support our program for years to come.
