Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of learners who love school. Their curiosity and enthusiasm create a strong sense of community in our classroom, and despite any challenges they may face, they blossom with resilience each day.

Many of my students qualify for free-and-reduced lunch, classifying our school as Tile I.

With many English Language Learners and students with high learning needs, it is imperative that our environment supports students in every way. The primary grades are a beautiful opportunity to build a strong foundation for learning to support them throughout their education. I aim each day to build that for my students.

My Project

Our school's "Green Team" meets once a week after school to learn about and discuss the future of sustainability in our everyday lives. These 20 students range from first to fifth grade, and they have such excitement about the possibilities of sustainability in the future. They are creative, passionate, and driven. We will be starting a project in which students will design a diorama that represents a sustainable community. Students have been learning about different types of renewable energy; they are eager to begin creating their ideal "green community."

By donating to my project, you will be providing a creative experience for students to apply their learning.

Students will use supplies such as glue, crayons, craft sticks, paint, tissue paper, etc. to design and implement their plans. And of course, the disinfectant spray will keep us all healthy in the process!
