The world is but a canvas to our imagination.~~Henry David Thoreau
We have a new student from Puerto Rico!
Could you imagine leaving your home and school to relocate where you don't know the language? My new little girl got displaced from Puerto Rico to Florida by Hurricane Maria.
We want to teach our new addition by using reading books/games and math books/games. It takes a village to raise a child. Thank you for being a part of our village.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn. ~~Ben Franklin~~
My Project
My class has a new addition to our classroom, a little girl from Puerto Rico who survived Hurricane Maria.
We need books and games to teach basic skills of reading and math.
We are looking forward to teaching our new little addition who survived Hurricane Maria. We will begin at the beginning learning letters and sounds and numbers. Building vocabulary through books will be essential. Also, playing games will reinforce skills. Not only will she be working with me, but with other students who are so willing to help. We will dry erase markers on white boards to practice letters and numbers.
Thank you for making this little girl's transition easier.
