This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the words of Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all”. I’ve been blessed with an opportunity to help my students strengthen their communication skills despite their challenges. Whether they are engaging in aural rehabilitation or learning a new language system, my students deserve the opportunities to excel and become independent thinkers. Giving them the chance to have their voices heard is my ultimate goal. These students strive to succeed in their instructional environment while navigating through various communication barriers. My students are from culturally diverse- low-income households across The Bronx and will benefit from any support possible.

During these times of uncertainties, my students have proven to be resilient- They unwillingly accepted the challenges and are demonstrating they too can adapt to changes.

They are RESILIENT! However, it doesn’t deter the fact that they are concrete and visual learners who benefit from interactive lessons and additional endless possibilities offered by a dependable laptop computer and green screens kit that can allow my students to enter a virtual reality during their screen time. My students need technological supports to engage with the daily life lessons they are learning!

My Project

These materials will allow my students to become engaged in current events by using green screen effects to display times and eras that will facilitate independent thinking despite their different abilities. By using a laptop, green screen, headsets, and a giftcard, I can have the mobility to provide necessary instructions in a remote setting. By helping my students achieve their independent voices and communication platforms, they can advocate for what they believe is right given the adequate guidance.

As we transition into a world of synchronous learning, they deserve to have an educator with the most up-to-date technology needed to support instructions.
