My Project
As one of the dedicated nurses at a high school, I am responsible for ensuring the health and safety of over 2,200 students and staff members each day. In times of emergencies or natural disasters, having adequate medical supplies is not just important—it is essential. From treating minor injuries to managing serious medical situations until emergency responders arrive, I need access to well-stocked first aid kits, trauma supplies, medications, emergency equipment, and technology. Having an iPad to utilize as a tool will allow us to access important apps including ones for documentation, and also quickly and efficiently be able to communicate with staff, families, and outside first responders, especially if the school has a loss of power, which is crucial. Without these resources, the ability to respond quickly and effectively could be severely compromised, putting many lives at risk. Supporting our school with proper medical supplies, and making sure the team of nurses stay hydrated in the process with the Stanleys, means being prepared for the unexpected and ensuring the well-being of everyone on campus.
