My Project

All special education teachers have to be ninjas in the classroom! We have to be able to differentiate, simplify, teach, reteach, supervise, ORGANIZE... the list is endless! The items that our class is asking for are vital to getting our classroom organized to help assist in creating a workspace to ensure success for our special needs students.

Generally speaking, in special education, one of the strategies that works the best is a structured, organized routine and due to Covid-19, that's gone.

As a result, teachers of special education classes have struggled through a trial-and-error process to find what works, and what doesn't, to encourage their students to engage in lessons.

Mobile TV Stand/Mobile White Board: To utilize our classroom space better. If we would like to teach outside, we would have resources to do so.

File Organizer/4 shelf storage: To help encourage student independence. An area for them to grab supplies they would need in an organized manner.

Classroom Calendar: To be used to help organize our Morning Meeting class. Currently, we have all aspects on different boards. this helps us organize it better.

Storage Organizer (Toys)- to help organize our sensory items better in our sensory area.

Silhouette Cameo 4- Most students are tactile learners that require concrete materials to assist their learning. The software will help us create lessons to specific living skills. Cut out shapes, people, transportation, cooking items, to help them identify them. this will also play a huge part in labeling all items in our class to stay organized.

Kids rug- To be used in sensory area. A way for the kids to learn while on break!
