I have the amazing job of being able to interact and teach 21 first graders every day. These first graders are fun, energetic, love to explore new concepts and are eager and diverse learners. Having a classroom with so many unique personalities and learning abilities is one reason that I love what I do as a teacher. I want my students to feel loved, successful and smart in my classroom and that starts with my students knowing that they can do anything they set their mind to.
My Project
Since COVID-19 has greatly disrupted traditional learning in the classroom, we have learned to adapt to more online learning platforms for our students to use. Having headphones for Chromebooks in my class will greatly help my students with their language arts, reading and math lessons.
Students come to my classroom first thing, oftentimes several minutes before the first bell rings each day.
Having the scratch art papers will really help my students to be engaged in the classroom when they get there in the mornings since we no longer go outside in the mornings and I am responsible for keeping my students in the classroom before school starts. I would LOVE more book bins to organize my classroom library better to help my early readers learn how to navigate our classroom library. The magnetic blocks and shapes will also help my students to practice composing/decomposing shapes in the classroom with a hands-on experience.
