My students need headphones because we don't have access to working headphones for each computer terminal in my classroom. These headphones will be of great assistance during technology time.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a vivacious group of inner city 2nd grade students that live in a low socioeconomic area within Miami-Dade County. Most of my students come from single family households thus forcing them to be on free lunch due to lack of financial funds. My students are eager to learn but lack the necessary tools to help equip them move towards academic success.

My babies are struggling academically because there is a lack of materials within the school.

I can see their eagerness to learn and to blossom. Each day as they enter the classroom I am forced to allow them 10-12 rotating in and out of groups using 5 computers to make sure they are able to at least get that time in. Its a struggle everyday for all of us trying to get the necessary usage and time with very little. Also, some days are very frustrating because the technology that we do have isn't in the best of conditions.

My babies want to learn and they want to be able to compete with the neighboring 2nd graders and feel confident that they measure up and compete on any level academically despite their home life.

My Project

I am requesting inexpensive headphones. I want to make sure each of my students has a set each day as part of our computer time experience. These headphones will allow students to focus in comfort. They will be responsible for making sure that they are in working condition so that they can tackle the assignments at hand without outside noises and interruptions. My students will have the opportunity to hear everything presented to them without technology failure.

Headphones are essential to my students' success at mastering the skills.

My students already have a place for them where they will be safe and ready daily for them to use.
