Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see?" The answer used to be "Children looking at me." In today's classroom, that is no longer acceptable. Students can no longer "watch" the teacher teach all day. They must have the tools to engage, interact, and create. The iPad allows the students to do this.

My students come from a lower economic area, where technology is not available in every home.

Our school is a Title 1 School, where every donation is appreciated by the students, parents, and staff. Additionally, the community is committed to providing our students with the best education possible, even though finances are not readily available.

My Project

I am requesting 1 iPad and 1 cover to successfully complete a year's worth of creative and analytical learning goals. My students will be able to use the iPad to create science projects that inspire each other to be life long learners. They will be able to research topics of interest, including fossils and the life cycle of a butterfly. They will then be able to create a visual presentation using keynote, strip designer, or iMovie. Finally, they will be able to share their projects with the class via our Apple TV.

This project is important because it brings learning into the 21st Century.

It encourages the students to be active learners. It also introduces them to the power of technology in the classroom and empowers them to take learning into their own hands.
