Help me give my students access to the internet for research and learning.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Diamond's classroom raised $669
This project is fully funded
My Students
My classes consist of hardworking and motivated students. As a Title I school in NYC, many of my students come from low income families so the necessary supplies needed for instruction in the classroom are often difficult to obtain.
Despite the difficulties they face in their home environments, they still come to school every day, ready to learn and eager as ever to improve their learning.
My students love working together to share what they know with each other and are constantly growing as a learning community.
My Project
A large portion of my school's curriculum requires them to do work on educational assisting programs like I-READY and other various online resources that can greatly help in their education and allow them to be successful students and adults.
Due to a shortage in funding and laptops broken beyond repair, there are simply not enough electronic devices available to ensure that every student has their own device they can use to access online programs and websites that are vital to their education at the same time as their peers.
As a result, some kids have to do the same lesson but in a book because there are not enough available technologies.
This donation of 10 tablets will allow the entire 3rd grade to have access to the online resources that my school uses without children having to share or spending the entire 45 minute block turning off and restarting a laptop that will not work. This will also reduce students having to borrow from one class during one time of the day and then having to return them later so that a majority of the students can learn all together as we do not have a full class set between our two rooms. These tablets will also help our ELL students use RAZkids and other language learning programs so they can acquire the language electronically as well as with their teachers.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
