Your generosity has already made a meaningful impact on my students' learning, joy, and daily experiences.\r\n\r\nThe sand table has quickly become a favorite space in our room. Its importance in Pre-K cannot be overstated. Sensory play is foundational for early childhood development. It helps children build fine-motor skills, practice cooperative play, develop language, and explore concepts in science and math in hands-on, meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited the moment the sand table arrived and began exploring it right away. Because it includes four separate buckets, I'm able to offer a variety of sensory experiences at once. We have already used it for our fall sensory bin that connected to our tree unit, as well as a holiday bin and a water-beads bin. These rotating sensory experiences help students make connections to what we are learning and support calm, focused exploration. The children are especially looking forward to using the table for upcoming water-based sensory activities.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you also for the new musical instruments and the classroom radio. These additions have brought so much joy into our day. This is the first time our classroom has ever had a radio, and the students were thrilled to turn it on for music and movement, story time, and read-alouds. Music plays a vital role in early childhood by building rhythm, self-expression, listening skills, and social connection.\r\n\r\nThe musical instruments were an instant hit, especially the bongo drums! The children have loved exploring sound, beat, and creative expression through our music center . They are already looking forward to using the radio with upcoming read-aloud books and continuing to make music together.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has transformed our classroom environment, creating richer learning experiences and memories the children will carry with them. Thank you for believing in our students and for helping us build a classroom full of discovery, creativity, and joy.","fullyFundedDate":1760693707984,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-sounds-and-sandy-smiles/9568828/","projectTitle":"Sensory Sounds and Sandy Smiles!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10165901_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y575&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754775112741","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10165901"},{"teacherId":10165901,"projectId":9568594,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in helping our Pre-K classroom receive a new teaching easel. Your contribution has made a meaningful difference in our daily learning experiences, and I want to share the impact it has already had on my students.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe moment the easel arrived, my students were filled with excitement and curiosity. They gathered around it with wide eyes, asking questions, and eagerly guessing what we would use it for. Their reactions showed just how much this new tool means to them. It's something fresh, inviting, and made just for their learning.\r\n\r\nOur easel has quickly become the heart of our classroom during whole-group lessons and morning meetings. At this age, students learn best when lessons are interactive, visual, and hands-on. The easel allows me to bring concepts to life, whether we're practicing letters, exploring new vocabulary, or counting together. Its large display surface helps every child stay engaged, even from across the room, ensuring that all students can participate and see clearly.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the easel has helped create a central learning space where my students feel excited to gather, share ideas, and learn together. It has strengthened our classroom community and made our group time more focused, meaningful, and joyful.\r\n\r\n\r\nWe are especially excited for our next activity: using the easel to make our \"Question of the Day\" more interactive. Students will take turns coming up to the easel to place their name, draw, or write their response. This simple routine strengthens early literacy, decision-making, communication, and social skills, all through fun, hands-on participation.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and investing in our young learners. Your generosity is helping build a strong foundation for their future success, and we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758899140062,"projectUrl":"project/a-strong-start-with-a-smart-easel/9568594/","projectTitle":"A Strong Start with a Smart Easel","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10165901_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y575&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754775112741","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10165901"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_985","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":497,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":48,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":13,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":985,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 155 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 155","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-155/985"}
