Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are primarily Hispanic gifted/advanced and attend a public middle school. They come from different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds which brings diversity into my classroom. Their curriculum involves enrichment activities through projects and presentations. Additionally, their lessons are accelerated to meet their educational plans and avoid boredom. Their inquisitiveness demands exploration of knowledge, creativity through different modes, critical thinking and problem solving of ideas. Student' engagement through cooperative learning, listening, speaking and viewing are essential to prepare these students for career readiness. My students are Simply the Best!
My Project
In my language arts classroom may students are like eager beavers however there are no student computers for them to find answers to some of their questions. Having four laptop computers will provide students with accessibility to complete projects, prepare presentations and research different topics.
Students who do not have internet access at home will also be able to come in before class to complete their assignments or novel quizzes on the laptops.
The laptops will be part of a center in the class where students can collaborate with one another in group activities when they need enrichment activities. Using technology is a STEM component that integrates the sciences in the language arts setting.
