Surfing into Flexible Seating for Soaring Success

My students need surf portable lap desks as a flexible seating option. This, along with other flexible seating options in my class, will allow students to work to their potential.

My Students

What a great group of students I have! They are full of energy and spunk. They have the best personalities and make me laugh each day. We call ourselves Superheroes. They try to do things each day to help others and themselves be the best they can be!

My class has many various needs in it.

I have students from all walks of life and varied abilities. These students are welcoming of each other's special Super Powers and needs. They work together as a class to accomplish all they can.

My Project

Research shows that students work best when they are able to focus and concentrate. Desks where your feet hang or that are too short are not comfortable. Sitting in a hard chair all day just isn't fun. As adults, we have cushioned chairs but expect our children to sit in stiff hard chairs. How can we expect our children to concentrate when they are so uncomfortable?

Choosing the seating option that a students finds works best for them leads directly to success.

My students have many seating options; wobble stools, stools, cushions, pillow. Many like working on the floor but have nothing to use as a writing surface when sitting up. These surf lap desks will allow just that. Traditional lap desks fold down over their legs and force students to sit with their legs straight out. Not very comfortable! This option allows for many floor sitting options.
