My Students

My students have a love for technology. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is on their wish list.

My students are fifth and sixth grade academically gifted and talented.

They are eager to learn and love learning with technology. Our school is located in an urban area surrounded by science and technology companies which is where their love of computers have come from.

My Project

My students have access to six Chromebooks and some are able to bring their own internet capable devices to school. But we love new technology to try out like the Surface Pro 3. Students will use the Surface Pro 3 for researching and presenting their learning. During Genius Hour my students work for 30 minutes a day on a student chosen research project to explore a big question they would like to answer. My students will use the Surface Pro to find digital source to help them answer their big question. They will also use the Surface Pro to present their findings to an audience. Students may choose to create a digital presentation, use an app, or create a video to present their information.

My students have worked hard to earn the money for the Surface Pro.

Thanks to Microsoft who provided the opportunity for my students to earn $750 from coding their own websites and generous parents, my students will love this new addition to our classroom.
