This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our children are dreamers. They are eager and motivated to learn. They come from families who are hard-working, and they are teaching their children that same motivation for learning. Many of our families fall below the national poverty levels; some experiencing the situation of being homeless or are home insecure. In addition, English is a second language for the majority of our families or they are bilingual households.
Every child deserves a great start.
Our children deserve no less than great. Our children are getting ready for Kindergarten, and it is our job to prepare them! Having the right materials and devices is a large part of preparing students for school success!
My Project
The use of a Microsoft Surface Go, the keyboard case and stylus in our classroom would greatly increase productivity in our classroom both for the educators and for the students as well.

There are two educators in my classroom and only one device for recording observations and documentation. This causes one educator or the other to wait until the device is available to enter observations and leads to a delay in productivity as well as missing information when we lesson plan each week.
Things change quickly in a preschool classroom and having all the up to date information at our hands will help us to better plan for the education of our students. We use observations and documentation of students progress to determine if an intervention lesson is needed and to see if our lessons are successful and that students are making progress, all for the goal of our student's success in Kindergarten.
We also use observations to show student growth to parents at conferences and administrators throughout the year to show that our program is relevant and needed. Having this second device will help us to keep documentation current and allow for better planning.
