Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful, diverse group! They are eager to learn. The only thing in there way are they broken chairs they sit in.
My second graders are wonderful.
They are only asking for chairs to work in. They come varying socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Our small school is part of a very large district that annually makes drastic cuts to budgets and funding. The district has no money to replace our aging and breaking chairs.
My Project
My students, now and tomorrow, will benefit greatly from new chairs. I know my students will feel a sense of pride in their classroom with the addition of the simple functioning furniture that all classrooms and students should have. My students will be better focused on their desk tasks instead of the concerns or frustrations they have about their chairs.
New, comfortable chairs will improve the learning environment for all of my students.
They should be able to have the best learning environment possible so they can access the curriculum instead of wiggling around in broken chairs.
