My Students

In my second grade classroom, 18 energetic scholars enter ready to "grow their brains" each day. My scholars come from neighborhoods across Boston, bringing their unique background and culture to our school's community.

Second grade is an amazing time when students grow to become more independent and thoughtful scholars.

Each day we explore the world around us through reading, writing, math, play, and music. Students work together to build an inclusive and kind classroom community where we are "crew not passengers".

My Project

The materials I am requesting are two iPad tablets and durable cases to protect them. We will use these tools in class to help support students become budding engineers and scientists through our dynamic science curriculum. Students will use these devices daily to research, plan, and solve real world problems through projects.

Solving problems with technology is a skill every 21st century scholar needs in order to be successful in the world today.

Students are incredibly capable of solving complex problems when they have all of the tools they need. This project gives them the opportunity to gain important science knowledge and explore their own capacity for creative problem solving.
