Ms. Hillenbrand from Washington DC is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a locking storage cabinet to organize and store our robotics, computer science, and engineering materials.

My students think STEM is AWESOME! They love investigating, exploring, creating, and using their knowledge to explain the world around them.
I teach 7th and 8th-grade students at a high needs school in Washington, DC.
Over ninety percent of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch, and over twenty percent qualify for special education services. Each of my students comes to class with a uniquely personal and cultural background that influences their learning. It is my job to enrich their middle school experience by exposing them to the basics of engineering, computer programming, and robotics. These topics are challenging for many of my students. There is a lot of new vocabulary and abstract concepts to learn. Students often struggle to put new material together and make connections to their own experiences, especially when we don't have the materials needed to do hands-on activities.
Middle school STEM classes are exciting places to be! Students are fully engaged, collaborating with their peers, and bringing their ideas to life. This school year, our STEM program is growing. We are adding more STEM courses, and that means we will have lots more building materials!
We need a storage bin cabinet to organize and store all of our STEM materials.
The storage solution will allow students easier access to the materials they need to build robots, program microcontrollers, and design items on the 3D printer. We will be able to reduce the time we spend on organization and increase the time we can spend creating.
