Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a loving and energetic group of kids, with a passion for learning. Our classroom is as diverse in cultures as we are in personalities, and have a large focus on building a sense of community. We are a Title I school, where 91% of students qualify for free-and-reduced lunch and 46% of students are considered English Language Learners. As a majority of my students come from low-income families, I must create an environment that is conducive to learning and give them the best shot at success!

My Project

Distance learning has definitely been a difficult transition. There are many pros and cons. One of the cons, is that all the fun and interactive lessons are not transferrable over Zoom. One way to remedy this obstacle is by providing my students with fun games and activities they can do on their computers. One of the pros, is that students are becoming even more digitally literate. These games and activities (like boom cards or seesaw activities for asynchronous learning) will further enhance my students digital skills and will teach them how to use technology to promote learning!
