Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students receive extra after-school support in Language Arts, working hard to strengthen their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Many of them face challenges that make learning more difficult during the regular school day, whether due to language barriers, learning gaps, or limited access to resources at home. This after-school program gives them the focused time and space they need to build confidence and grow as readers and writers.
With your support, we can create a more engaging and supportive environment for them.
Folders and notebooks will help students stay organized and track their progress. Arts and crafts supplies will allow us to incorporate creative projects that make reading and writing more interactive and fun. Snacks provide the energy and comfort students need after a long day, helping them stay focused and motivated. This project will not only support academic growth but also boost student morale and create a positive, enriching space for learning beyond the classroom.
Our after-school program serves a wonderfully diverse group of learners, including English as a second language (ESL) students who are working to improve both their language proficiency and academic vocabulary. These students benefit greatly from small-group instruction and creative activities that reinforce language development in meaningful, engaging ways. Visual aids, hands-on projects, and structured writing tasks help them make vital connections between spoken and written English. Resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will benefit my ESL students.
We also support students in special education and Tier intervention groups, many of whom require individualized approaches to learning. These students thrive when given consistent structure, encouragement, and access to materials that meet their unique needs. Whether they are practicing foundational reading strategies or building expressive writing skills, the resources from this project will help ensure that all students—regardless of their learning challenges—feel seen, supported, and successful.
