These students will really benefit from these items. I try to make our lessons and classroom more exciting for our students and these donations will really help with that. From the photos you can see that I used the laminator to laminate words to help my special education and English as a Second Language students build their vocabulary. I used the coloring supplies for students to express themselves to create their own lab coat. This was used as a get to know you activity at the beginning of the year and they are now displayed in our room. We also used the coloring supplies for students to show understanding of the water cycle by creating a model. The takis are the kids favorite snack! So I filled it our \"Kindness Treasure Chest\" with them. How the Kindness Treasure Chest works is when students do random acts of kindness or show kindness towards their fellow classmates they get to grab a snack out of there. Having the clorox wipes and paper towels are a great addition to keep our classroom clean and sanitized for my students and our classroom. Finally, we will be using the microscope slides that you donated in our last unit of the school year which is biology. Students have NEVER used a microscope let alone looked a cells of anything. So when we get to this unit they will be so excited. I did show them at the beginning of the year the slides and told them what we were going to do and they were ecstatic! \r\nI really appreciate your donation and I cannot express the gratitude that I have for it. The fidgets have become a tool that helps them calm their bodies and focus their minds during classwork. I've seen students who usually struggle to stay seated now able to finish an assignment while quietly using a fidget. The snacks have been just as impactful—when students come to my office needing a little break or support, having something to eat helps them reset and return to class ready to learn. One of my favorite moments was seeing a student relax with a fidget in hand while opening up about their feelings—it created such a safe and supportive space.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their eyes lit up. They were so excited to try out the fidgets, and many said things like, \"This is just what I need!\" The snacks also brought a big smile to their faces. For some, it was the comfort of knowing there's always something available for them when they're hungry. Their joy and gratitude were so genuine, and it reminded me how even small things can mean so much in helping kids feel cared for and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, my students will continue to use the fidgets and snacks as part of their self-regulation and coping strategies. These resources are supporting them not only during academic lessons, but also in moments when they need to practice calming their bodies, managing emotions, and building focus. Thanks to your generosity, my students are learning that it's okay to ask for what they need and that they are supported every step of the way. First off, let me just say that you got me to be a believer in Donors Choose! I've been teaching for 18 years, and this is the first time I've created a donation request. I honestly didn't think anything would come of it; you proved that wrong. It was only about a week after I submitted my request that you came through supporting my project in its entirety. \r\nLast year my co-teacher and I decided to create more of homey space in our room. We collected furniture through the community as well as from our own basements. The space was very inviting but the lighting needed some work. A co-worker loaned us some lamps but it didn't offer enough light for the space. Hence the creation of the Donors Choose project. The new lamps offer enough light without needing the overhead lights, creating a comfortable bright learning atmosphere. We could not have done it without you.\r\nThank you so much for choosing this project!","fullyFundedDate":1746472907279,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-see-the-light/9289831/","projectTitle":"Can You See the Light?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McNulty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10007459"},{"teacherId":9854586,"projectId":9114155,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donations that funded our Zearn math snack cart here at Humphrey Middle School! Thanks to your support, we've been able to add some truly transformative resources that have already had such a positive impact on my students. \r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting moments was when the students first saw the bin of fidgets. Their faces lit up with excitement! The fidgets have helped students maintain engagement as well as provided an outlet for students needing a sensory break. They have absolutely loved them! \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the magnetic marker holders, lamps, fidgets, plastic sleeves, and more have truly made a difference in our classroom environment. The students have been using the magnetic marker holders each time we are at our vertical stations to keep their supplies organized and easily accessible during lessons. It's helped reduce the time spent searching for any dropped supplies, which means more time for learning! \r\nSimilarly, the plastic sleeves have been game-changing for our vertical whiteboard stations! It is easy to reuse worksheets without wasting paper, making the learning process feel more interactive. This has encouraged more risk-taking, as students feel free to make changes and try new approaches without fear of making mistakes. The lamps, also, have made such a difference. Many students have shared how much easier it is to focus and work with the softer light, which creates a more comfortable and productive space for everyone.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I'm excited to continue using these wonderful supplies to further encourage risk-taking in my math classroom, still following the Building Thinking Classrooms model.
