My Project
I am requesting two iPads to support my special education students (ages 18-22) who lack access to smartphones. These devices will help them plan and navigate public transportation routes, a crucial skill for developing independence in the community. The iPads will allow students to access transportation apps, maps, and schedules to plan their routes and gain confidence in traveling on their own.
The iPads will provide my students with the tools to practice real-world problem-solving and gain hands-on experience in route planning.
The devices will allow them to explore interactive learning tools, access helpful apps, and visualize transportation routes, which will enhance their understanding and retention. These resources are particularly beneficial for students with diverse learning needs, offering a more engaging and accessible approach to learning life skills.
My goal is to empower students to use public transportation independently. With the help of iPads, I want them to learn how to plan, manage time, and navigate routes confidently. This project aims to reduce barriers that prevent students from accessing community resources, work, and social opportunities, helping them build the skills needed for independent living.
My students are resilient and motivated, working hard to overcome challenges such as learning disabilities or autism. They are eager to build a future where they can live and work independently. This project will provide them with the tools they need to succeed and navigate the world with confidence.
Thank you for supporting their journey toward independence.
