My Students

We are a public school whose students work hard to achieve the goal of a post-secondary education. Our A-G requirement completion rates for students to be accepted into California Colleges has steadily increased over the past few years. The school population is predominately Hispanic and approximately 60% of our students qualify for free/reduced-price lunch. Our students have worked tirelessly staying after school, filling out college applications, working on personal statements, and applying for Financial Aid.

Last year, 34% of our Seniors attended four-year universities.

My Project

For the 3rd year in a row, our Counseling Center Team will be hosting a "College Signing Day," where we honor our students who have been accepted into four-year universities. In addition to recognizing our students, last year, through the generous support of donors, we were able to raffle off prizes to our students as a means of saying "Way to Go!" and "We Believe in You!"

This year, we would love to raffle off "College Essentials," such as water bottles, notebooks, and travel coffee mugs, as this well help our student be successful in college!

We believe that our students will benefit from "college essentials," as they are items that they will need in college. For example, water bottles will serve as a reminder that students need to drink water to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Ear buds can help can help cancel out noise and allow students to focus better on their studies. A coffee maker can provide coffee to a student to handle late nights in college. Notebooks and pens will provide the tools to take successful class notes.

In addition to this school wide celebration, we will be recognizing our students in front of their younger peers, which will instill the value of hard work and dedication. Our younger students will have something to look forward to in their years to come!
