My Students
As a kindergarten teacher and school-wide reading interventionist, I work with students who are eager, anxious, and willing to learn. It is very important that each of them is met at his or her developmental level and is taught in a way that keeps them excited and engaged in learning.
My students benefit from instructional materials that can meet them at their developmental level and provide explicit instruction on important reading skills.
My Project
As a literacy interventionist, I work directly with students whose reading development has been negatively impacted by Covid-19. By using research-based materials designed to fill learning gaps through explicit instruction, these students can become successful learners in spite of recent challenges.
By using the Spire program, I can target gaps in reading and target my instruction.
This will greatly help students become successful, even during this unique time in education.
As my students increase their ability to be successful readers, they will also increase in their ability to engage with the world of literacy. This will have a positive impact on their social and emotional well-being.
