The wobble stools were an instant favorite—they're always in use, and students can't wait for their turn to choose one.\r\n\r\nThese seating choices have transformed our classroom. Students are more focused, comfortable, and engaged in their work because they can choose a spot that helps them do their best learning. I've seen them take more ownership of their space and show greater independence during lessons and small group work. My students love independent reading time and writing time when they can sit anywhere in the room. \r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students a classroom environment that supports movement, choice, and confidence. The books you provided have already made a real difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe've read two of the stories that focus on anxiety and sadness, which opened the door to honest conversations about feelings we often share. After reading, we practiced using our \"hand breathing\" strategy—tracing our fingers slowly while breathing in and out—to calm our bodies when we feel overwhelmed. The kids loved it and even reminded each other to \"use your hand!\" during tricky moments.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading looks like cozy corners, thoughtful questions, and big discussions about kindness, empathy, and problem-solving. During morning meetings, these stories set the tone for a positive day. In small groups, we use them to connect lessons to real-life situations. And during independent reading, students often return to their favorites when they need comfort or courage.\r\n\r\nOne of my students, Ruby, connected deeply with The Invisible Boy and said, \"That's how I felt when I moved here—but now I know how to make new friends.\" Another, Parker, proudly shared strategies from A Little Spot of Anger when he was frustrated during math. These small moments are exactly what I hoped these stories would spark.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students are learning that books don't just teach us how to read—they teach us how to be. Every page is helping them build stronger friendships, confidence, and compassion for others.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping create a classroom where stories and mindfulness help everyone feel safe, valued, and ready to grow.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nMrs. Sharae Udall\r\n2nd Grade Teacher","fullyFundedDate":1758566152334,"projectUrl":"project/helping-2nd-graders-grow-strong-minds-/9560762/","projectTitle":"Helping 2nd Graders Grow Strong Minds & Kind Hearts","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Udall","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6753496_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1579663143413","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6753496"},{"teacherId":8297612,"projectId":6152982,"letterContent":"Thanks to your contribution, we were able to create a library in our wellness room. Books are a powerful tool in teaching children, especially when the content is relatable and accessible to them. The collection of books you helped provide focuses on topics such as managing anxiety, controlling anger, practicing mindfulness, and navigating grief. \r\n\r\nOne student, after reading a book in the wellness room, taught her peers yoga poses she had learned, helping them practice mindfulness and find calm together. Another student, with the support of a teacher's aide, read a book on managing anger and was able to practice healthy coping strategies to express his emotions more effectively. These are just a few examples of how your donation is creating lasting change for our students, enabling them to grow emotionally, mentally, and socially.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only provided books, but also created a space where students can learn valuable life skills and develop a sense of self-awareness and emotional resilience. They have been such a wonderful addition to my classroom. \r\n\r\nThe headphones for the computers have helped immensely. There are many instances that require headphones including but not limited to testing, classroom assignments, and district required self paced math and reading programs. It's been so nice to have each student with his/her own set of sturdy headphones that should last me for years. These students have also loved the fun colors! \r\n\r\nI've also really appreciated the noise cancelling headphones. As an ALL teacher (I teach the advanced students), the vast majority of my class is twice exceptional (meaning many have additional needs such as anxiety, ADHD, OCD, autism, etc.), so there are many of them that are sensitive to loud noises. As a result, these noise cancelling headphones have really helped them to feel ready to work. \r\n\r\nThank you again so much! As soon as we unpacked our new supplies, the class was buzzing with excitement. \r\n\r\nThe integration of technology in our classroom has been transformative. With the use of headphones, students can engage in independent and differentiated learning. This allows them to progress at their own pace, fostering a personalized learning experience that caters to their individual needs. Moreover, the dice and base 10 blocks have been instrumental in helping students grasp complex mathematical concepts through hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting aspect of the new technology for our students is the ability to explore and learn independently. The headphones have opened up a world of interactive lessons and activities that keep them engaged and motivated. The tactile experience provided by the math tools has also sparked a new interest in mathematics, making abstract concepts more tangible and fun. We have been able to engage with math games to review and learn concepts.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have particularly benefited from these new tools. For instance, one student, who previously struggled with concentration, now focuses better during independent study sessions with headphones. Similarly, another student has shown remarkable improvement in math, eagerly using the dice and base 10 blocks to solve problems and actively participate.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your support and for making a meaningful impact on our students' learning experiences.
