My Project

The practice of providing students with calming spaces benefits mental health and wellness tremendously. I would love to create a classroom using some of these frameworks to support the social, emotional, and behavioral development needs of students.

I invited my class to help develop a wish list of things that they feel were needed in our room to allow them to be comfortable and create opportunities to self regulate without removing themselves from the classroom.

Co-creating this space together provided insight for me about the challenges they are facing and the needs for support.

Engaging my students in the creation process will help increase their use of the calming spaces, as they are attuned to the needs and preferences of

those they aim to serve. This was very exciting to put together!! I would love to help put their vision in place as I know it will have such a positive impact on their experiences at school, which will increase their self-esteem and overall engagement.

I appreciate your support tremendously!
