This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their uniqueness, the way each child brings their own strengths, challenges, energy, and personality into the classroom. They are resilient, curious, and full of potential. Many of my students experience sensory sensitivities or emotional regulation challenges, yet every day, they show up ready to learn in the best way they can. They remind me daily that learning isn't one-size-fits-all, and they inspire me to meet them where they are.
The resources I’m requesting will give my students the tools they need to feel calm, focused, and ready to learn.
Sensory supports will help students manage overstimulation or distractions. Self-regulation tools will empower them to understand their feelings and choose appropriate strategies to stay engaged.
With these resources (timers, fidgets, chew necklaces, sensory stickers), I can create a learning environment where all students feel safe, supported, and seen. An environment where their brains and bodies are included celebrated and ready to thrive.
